works by dan brandemuehl and patricia murphy
October 28th through December 3rd, 2011

Ironton is pleased to host Qunitessence, an exhibit of paintings and sculpture by two of its long-time artist residents.

Patricia “Murph” Murphy exhibits a new conceptual series of paintings, each a swimmer in open undefined waters, still and flowing, gestural and intimate. Combining painting and drawing, they explore a palette of blues and grays, the play of light and texture.

The stylized figural sculptures of Dan Brandemuehl work to capture the noble essence of human nature. Inspired primarily by the reclining figures of Henry Moore, the works portray grace with dignity and confidence with inner serenity.
