Show run thru March 28th 2009
Open First friday march 6th, 6-9pm
Andy Berg's abstract paintings are confident and vigorous. The layered works, both large and small, employ extravagant mark-making; alternately aggressive, hesitant, ugly and facile. There is a great deal of play when Berg paints, and an effort to connect to the unconscious; the Surrealist concept of 'automatism' is a precursor to this work.
Berg has been painting consistently for the past 30 years, this is his first public exhibit.
"It’s all a process of looking inside and valuing the individual experience of Reality. All change in society comes from each individual one at a time looking deep into the abyss and separating itself from the collective."- Andy Berg
