Clearing: The Aspen Series
new works by Meredith Nemirov

Opening Reception: Friday March 14th, 6–9 pm

Ironton will be open for First Friday, April 4th, from 6-9pm
To celebrate National Poetry Month we'll have two incredible poets, Tabitha Dial and Dee Galloway, reading around the fire. They will begin at 7pm. Please join us!

Ironton Studios is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4, and Saturdays from 12 to 4.

Clearing is an exhibit of large works on paper based on the iconic Aspen tree and it’s environment. The wall-mounted drawings relate to the synesthetic experience observed while moving through and walking in the landscape.

Nemirov incorporates abstract linear
elements into the work that evoke topography. An installation of hanging works on paper entitled The Sound of Trees, incorporate drawings and text and add to the forest-like experience of the gallery.

Meredith Nemirov was a figurative painter in New York City until she moved
to Ridgway, CO in 1988. The change from living in an urban to a rural environment compelled her to paint the landscape searching for the figure.

Much of this work was completed during a winter stay in 07/08 while at residency at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass.
